Frequently Asked

  • What does the Unlimited Membership get me?
  • Everything! Including all Outdoors, Movement, Strength and Wellbeing sessions. You'll get all the member benefits of essential, but be able to access as many classes as you like and also attend any type of class.

  • Are there concession rates?
  • Absolutely. If you have a concession card either for disability, age, study or medical reasons we want to help. Make sure you let us know when you come in for your trial and bring your concession card and we'll get you a 25% discount on any of our memberships.

  • Who in my family can use the Family Membership?
  • If you're signed up for an Unlimited Family Membership, then it includes all members of a single immediate family. So if you're bringing the kids and partner, then no bringing your cousins too! Make sure you ask us if you're not sure, as we're always happy to bend the rules a bit for families.

  • Can I try out before I start a membership?
  • We insist. We want all members of This Is to be as invested in it as we are in them. You'll start off with a Free Trial, after which you'll get access to our 5 Session Pass for new people only. This gets you any 5 sessions you like for 30 days. After that, you'll know for sure if it's for you.

  • Are there contracts?
  • We ask all of our members to commit for a minimum of 12 weeks. We're reluctant to call it a contract because if you don't want to be there or genuinely can't we want to respect that. However, we will hold you to the agreement if you don't have a strong reason not to persist for at least those 12 weeks. Remember when you started you believed in yourself enough that you could achieve that, and we'll do everything we can to make it happen!

  • I want to lose weight, can you help me with that?
  • Of course we can! However, we dream of a world where everyone is more excited about what they have to gain than what they have to lose. All modern research into the field tells us that fixation on how we look as a motivator for training is not only unhealthy but ineffective. If we work with you to lose weight, we hope you'll also work with us to move past caring about how you look and instead celebrating who you are and your potential.

  • Are your Wellbeing Specialists seperate to This Is?
  • Definitely not. Most "holistic" training spaces these days just rent space out to specialists but there's little crossover or collaboration. In order to become a This Is Wellbeing Specialist, you have to complete our VERY comprehensive induction process, and will be working at all times with the coaching team to make sure we're proactively helping you change your life.

  • I need to cancel a session, appointment or trial, what happens?
  • Sometimes our plans come apart, but it's up to us to make sure that they don't affect the people we care about. We really appreciate early cancellations, so if something does happen to come up when you've booked a class, appointment, consult or personal training session, please let us know as soon as possible. We really love it when you let us know early and promise that we'll even thank you!

  • It's really last minute and I'm really sorry, cancelling within 24 hours?
  • Sometimes it just doesn't come together and you'll cancel within 24 hours. All of our Coaches and Wellbeing Specialists are very good at what they do though, so this means they'll have already planned and prepared to see you. Any cancellations which occur within 24 hours of your appointment will be deducted from your account or membership as though it had occurred.

Life happens though, doesn't it? For genuine reasons, we have genuine compassion. If you have experienced bereavement, personal loss or extreme circumstances, please let us know and we'll arrange for either a refund, reschedule or reallocation toward your account. Please note we also provide access to mental and physical Wellbeing services, so if you are low on energy, struggling emotionally or physically restricted, we are able to assist. Therefore we do not accept these as genuine reasons unless previously discussed with the team.

  • Do you have HICAPS?
  • We certainly do! All relevant specialists such as physiotherapy, exercise physiology, dietitian, etc. can accept HICAPS. Just make sure you let our team know on the day.

  • I'm just starting, is this for me?
  • Everyone starts somewhere, and as far as we're concerned it's the most difficult stage of the whole process so we've got a comprehensive strategy to get you from start to strong. If you're looking to change your life for the better, then we're going to work with you for as long as it takes because that's what we love doing.

  • What should I expect when I turn up for a trial?
  • In your first session you'll get introduced to not just your Coach, but also be teamed up with one of our Veterans to help you through. If you're already in considerable condition, push hard but pay attention to how we do things. If you're new, stick close to your buddy and ask lots of questions.

  • What's this Primary Coach thing?
  • Primary Coaches work with each of our members to help them stay on track, encourage them to seek out change and challenge. There's lots of accountability both ways and your Primary Coach will get to know you pretty darn well! All This Is Coaches have earned the title of Warrior Of Hope though, because they conduct an intensive 8-week induction learning crucial psychological and motivational fundamentals, so you know they're worth it.

  • Why do you have so many different types of training?
  • Health and fitness should be proactive and adventurous. You should always be seeking out that which makes you feel challenged and excited. We provide so many different types of training because exercise isn't just one thing, it's all forms of movement which helps promote change and growth.

  • You guys rock and I'm a trainer, what next?
  • We're always looking for new trainers. We have a comprehensive selection process though so if you're interested, please ask and we'll get you on track! It often takes about 3 - 4 months to complete the probationary stage and become a full This Is Warrior Of Hope.
